Within our portfolio, our flagship brands stand as pillars of excellence. The renowned Greysheet, Greensheet, Banknote Book, and Collector’s Price Guide (CPG) are esteemed house brands that embody our commitment to accuracy, reliability, and comprehensive coverage. These brands have become indispensable tools for investors and enthusiasts navigating the intricate landscape of collectibles and numismatic treasures.

The Coin Dealer Newsletter (CDN) was first published in 1980, when the dealer community expressed a need for a weekly compendium of bid levels from the four teletype systems then in operation. Orvil L. Payne, the founder, was one of eight independent coin dealers operating out of a single shop in Hawthorne, California. The idea was born in the back room of Coin-A-Rama City.

The very first issue was known as the National Coin Broker’s Bulletin, but with the second issue, the name changed to the Coin Dealer Newsletter (although most dealers refer to it as “the Greysheet”). From the beginning, as now, we meticulously examine all possible sources of information (teletype services, computerized trading networks, dealer trades, “buy” lists, and auction prices realized) to present relevant and exceptionally high-quality content, products, and service to our clients, customers, and the larger collectibles community.

CDN’s extensive wholesale expertise perfectly complements Whitman’s expansive retail-based offerings. Together, they form a comprehensive intelligence resource for the collectibles community. Our commitment lies in adapting, innovating, growing, and enriching the lives of dealers, collectors, and investors alike.
